So Are We...

 I'm the lucky one

To stand outside
At 40 below
And soak in the beauty
Of blue and white glow

I'm the lucky one

To stand in the mist
After a pouring rain
Awestruck by the prism
Of God's promise again

I'm the lucky one

To stand in a meadow
Of fresh springtime green
And smile at a baby moose
Just newborn and clean

I'm the lucky one

To stand in Icy water
Up past my knees
And wrangell some Grayling
'Cause Bella asked please

I'm the lucky one

To stand in the moonlight
And count the stars
To see Orion, The Milky Way
The Dig Dipper and Mars

I'm the lucky one

To stand there and watch me
And my life right here
I want to make known
Perfectly clear

I'm the lucky one

The 2012 Summer Pack Trips and Adventures

Master Guide Terry Overly

The 2012 Summer Pack Trips and Adventures reservations in Alaska with Pioneer Outfitters are filling, don’t be left out! The holidays are here, and the year has gone by in such a hurry. Children are growing too fast, people everywhere are worried about their lives and work.

We, here at Pioneer Outfitters share these worries and more with people all over this great world. One thing remains the same and untouched. The Alaska wilderness.

Alaska horseback wilderness adventures with Pioneer Outfitters have been a one of a kind, incredible horseback adventures since 1924.

Fly into the Interior Alaska Mountains and enjoy the inspiring and endless wilderness the way Alaska was meant to be seen, by horseback.

Individuals, families and groups are all welcome to join us, as we explore and travel across the rivers and tundra, climb the rugged mountains and glaciers, pan for gold in the same spot as the prosectors did during the last historic gold rush, stalk and photograph the amazing the Grizzly Bears, Alaska-Yukon Moose, the only true, non-migrating, Mountain Caribou, the magnificent Dall Sheep as well as and in addition to so much other wildlife.

Enjoy visiting and watching the incredible migratory birds that might only ever be seen here, and so very much more. The sunlight of Summertime in Alaska will refresh you in ways you can only imagine. The early morning and evening light shines and illuminates the world in ways that will tempt the most hesitant photographers!Bringing in the horses.

With experienced horseback and wilderness guides at your side, experience The Last Frontier as it was meant to be experienced! Safely and freely. Our guides are trained and selected from the very best men and women that Pioneer Outfitters Survival and Guide Training produces, to ensure you and yours are always safe and as free to explore and experience all the Alaska wilderness has to offer you.

We hope you will be part of the coming year's memories to be made. We have met so many remarkable individuals through this new website, blog as well as on Face Book, LinkedIn and on Twitter during this last year.

Each guest or client that comes to Chisana is treated as a friend and part of the family. Each one has brought a piece of themselves into our lives and have had a pHeading out!art in making us want to be even better and to do even more for the world that has gotten even bigger and more reachable as technology keeps pushing on.

There is so much to share with you in Chisana and in the great wilderness that we live, work and play in. I have found over the years I have spent in Chisana with Pioneer Outfitters, as magnificent the world is here, as special and exciting, nothing compares or makes it come alive to me as much as sharing it with someone that hasn't seen it ...yet.

Alaska Chick

I am, Alaska Chick.

“As you look, really look, and find no words; feeling both, your heart healing and filling to an inner bursting point and feeling that your soul has been laid open to the breeze and wind like a raw wound. This takes you beyond the physical, past the mental; this is the spiritual element. This is Chisana.”

My name is Amber-Lee Dibble and I am the Manager at Pioneer Outfitters. We are located in the Wrangell St. Elias National Park & Preserve, our nation’s largest, most unexplored, unexploited and untouched National Park.

I am Mom, the Manager and the lead Guide of the Extreme Pro Team Guides. Born a Capricorn 1, Week of the Ruler, on the Day of The Indomitable One.

Pioneer Outfitters has been taking people into the wilderness of Alaska on horseback for Spiritual, Pleasure, Gold Panning, Glacier Exploring and Historic Trail Pack Trips, as well as Big Game Hunting and Survival & Guide Training since 1924. We, our family and our horses have always lived here year-round. As we make our life, we make our “living.”
