Interior Mountain Grizzly Bear

Spring Grizzly is best the entire month of May thru the first 12 days of June. Spring is a really good time for our Interior Mountain Grizzly Bears. We gain so much light and the warm temperatures make for enjoyable and comfortable days hunting.   Primed out hides and claws that have not dug into the ground yet. 8.5 foot is a big Grizzly, 7 foot to 8 foot is a good possibility, with beautifully primed out coats.

Pioneer Outfitters Spring Grizzly & Black Bear Hunting

Our Spring Grizzly Bear and Black Bear Hunts have been a tradition with Pioneer Outfitters since 1924. We have one of the only areas in Alaska that a Grizzly Bear may be taken every year instead of one
every four years. Erica, with Spring Grizzly

With an area of 55 by 65 miles, our Bear population supports this harvest. Our Grizzlies never leave the Chisana Valley ~ they are true Mountain Grizzlies.  The cold breeze that is always
blowing off the glacier ice makes the Grizzly's coats prime, thick and silky.

Grizzly Bears and caribou

~We watched these two (can you find the second Grizzly?) Grizzlies from the opposite ridge above, wondering what they would do, as the Caribou crossed their path! ~The second Grizzly is only barely visible in this picture, she is down in a ditch, in front of the caribou, heading towards the other bear, you can only just see her back.

Grizzly, checking us out.
