~ This is a letter written by hand and handed to me to post here, for you.
Yes, 2013 was a year to remember. With high hopes and a great start we here at Pioneer Outfitters jumped right into the new year “running” and eager to meet all the new challenges of our own high expectations of a very successful and rewarding summer and fall season packed full of new guests and clients.
All the “foot work” was done in a very timely (and unusual for us!) fashion and we were feeling mighty good about ourselves and the buffer of time we had left ourselves, (over 30 days!) to complete every aspect of all of our plans. We were feeling really solid. Everything was on schedule.
Then. Out of nowhere, chaos struck us all, hard and unmerciful.
I would like to thank each of you who keep up with Pioneer Outfitters and our lives here in the remote Alaskan bush, as people, as Professional Guides and as Outfitters. I would also like to thank you all for cheering on our Alaska Guide Trainees, that Amber-Lee writes about and shares with you their trials and tribulations as they learn and grow.
I would also like to thank each one of you (and so many of whom are like me and they wouldn’t know how to turn a computer on, much less know how to use it!), for your tremendous support on behalf of “Cubby”. All of the very kind mail and calls I, the Man in Black, have received have helped to remind me that with my Team and with you, we will not loose. Not ourselves and not our shared future.
God Bless You All & Take Care
