Monday Motivation, Make it Count

Monday’s motivation for us all is simply a push, a little burst of purpose, from me to you and in turn, it motivates me!

Today, though, I want to make sure to share with you a thought that came to me late last night.

Make it count.

We are striving to better ourselves, pushing ourselves, learning all we can; trying hard to become more. We are Mom’s and Dads, CEOs and doctors, we are students and coworkers, we are farmers and Social Media Strategists; we are everyone and we are anyone.

Make it count.

Make it count

Make it count

We each use our time, passion, determination, sweat, focus and even money on the goal we are working towards.

Our very beings are wrapped up and committed to making this vision our reality.

Make it count

I was reminded recently that it is easy to be led astray of our Path, our purpose, without even realizing it.

Just a slight lack of attention to the details of what we are pursuing, and the message that we are sending can be lost.

It’s great and a joy when every part of the hard work and focus is also fun, but we cannot fall back into the habits we are determined to make better or rid ourselves of completely.

This isn’t to say that you aren’t allowed to take a breather, rest or relax!

By all means, take good care of yourself!

Physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually; take care of yourself.

Remember as you do, to make it count.

Don’t allow yourself to be set back, if your goal is a life changing one.

Make it count.

If you are taking time off, to rest and relax, be sure to rest and relax!

Sometimes, we might try to fool ourselves into thinking “just once” but this is just a lie to ourselves, because we know better.

Allow me to give you a personal example.

Today is Monday. Monday Motivation is important to us all, I know this and I hope some of you feel the same way.

But it has been a very long and stressful month for us here in the wilderness.

So much to do and it feels as if I am fighting a battle I cannot win trying to do all that I have on my list to do.

We all know what it is I had to face.

I wasn’t making it count.

I was writing, but I was writing pieces for the new book, not our Motivation Monday. I

was outside (one of the promises I always make myself when I feel trapped inside), tidying up and re-stacking wood, but I wasn’t enjoying a walk with my little girl and Solomon.

I needed to make it count.

Being derailed can happen in the sneakiest ways.

Suddenly, it is Monday and I almost did not have a post to share with you and the inspiration I take from not only sharing what I hope is a bit of motivation to help you through the week ahead, I’m not motivated either!

We need to Stay the Path, my friends, make it count.

Even during our most busy or stressful times, keep to your proven routines; as best you can, take care of yourself and do what you know needs to be done.

Make it count

Remember, you are not going this path alone.

We are all in this great big thing together.

And together, we are not only stronger and smarter but we wont fall aside and be left behind.

Because that is what people do, when they are in it together, they have each others back.

My extra for you today are a few of the quotes I use to remind myself to make it count.

“If you don’t know where you are going, you will probably end up somewhere else.”  ~Lawrence J. Peter

“It is a most mortifying reflection for a man to consider what he has done, compared to what he might have done.”  ~Samuel Johnson

“I don’t care how much power, brilliance or energy you have, if you don’t harness it and focus it on a specific target, and hold it there you’re never going to accomplish as much as your ability warrants.” ~Zig Ziglar

“How am I going to live today in order to create the tomorrow I’m committed to?”  ~Anthony Robbins

These I added to remind you, take care of yourself as you go…

“For fast-acting relief, try slowing down.”  ~Lily Tomli

“Sometimes it’s important to work for that pot of gold. But other times it’s essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow.” ~Douglas Pagels

“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.” ~J. Lubbock

“Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”  ~World Health Organization, 1948

Have a wonderful day and a fabulous week!

  1. I’ve shifted into another train of thought because I hear a lot of talk from people from all walks of life and yet all similar in that they have great faith. I watch and I listen and there is a disconnect…I see no joy. I hear about goals and plans, ideas, strategies, even inspiration. But I don’t see smiles or hear much laughter from thede same people. I hear about “someday” and “when” as markers for joy. Today’s the day to do what we do joyfully.

    • YES!! Where is your joy?!
Today is the day! The day to live! The day to be grateful! The day to smile at a perfect stranger! The day to fling your arms up to the sky and spin till your dizzy! Seriously, people. Everything we do makes a difference and there is a huge joy in that. Every day we wake, yes there is joy in that too. LIVE!! Be joyful!
Thank you, Betsy, for putting the joy right here on screen!

    • Yes! Make it count!! Every minute, every effort, every encounter… it all counts and for the joy to be present we must acknowledge it and MAKE IT COUNT! It counts! It does! I need that kick in the butt as much, if not more somedays, than anyone! Motivation Monday is a pure joy to me. It helps put me in the right frame of mind for the whole week. It makes my heart smile to know it does the same for you! LOL
