Motivation Monday: # 11 Quotes For the End of Your Rope

Motivation Monday

Monday Motivation is here!

Today’s motivation is that strong knot at the end of your rope, there, just as you are ready let go of the dream, the goal you have been working towards.

“When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.” ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt

Don’t let go!

What do you do, to keep your motivation, your forward momentum, when the people surrounding you, the people that matter the most to you, don’t support you?

There are so many quotes that help me with this exact and painful reality.

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

You can do this. You have everything you need to keep at it, inside you. All you have to do is: not quit. One more step, one more class, one more breath…

“Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other”
~ Abraham Lincoln

I have been asked, more times than one may think, “Do you think I have what it takes?” (Referring to becoming an Alaska Guide) or “When will you make me a guide?”  (sigh.)

We are one of the only two, Alaska Guide Training facilities, approved by the state, to train, instill and refine men and women, to become Alaska Big Game Guides.

Pioneer Outfitters doesn’t “make” guides. We guide. we guide in the some of the most dangerous terrain Alaska has to offer, in the harshest elements, in a very remote area for some of the most dangerous game on the continent.

“Act as if you have already achieved your goal and it is yours.”
~ Dr. Robert Anthony

We guide the men and women who are part of Pioneer Outfitters Survival & Guide Training into becoming more confident, stronger, more knowledgeable about the skill set they require to do such a job, to become as self sufficient as they could ever be required to be.

My responses to those questions? Do you have what it takes? You, are the only one who can “make” you a guide. All you have to do, is don’t quit.

“Many of life’s failures are experienced by people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”
~ Thomas Edison

Motivation Monday

“We had the experience, but we missed the meaning.”
~ T.S. Elliot

There are so many examples of this, that I have had in my own journey and over my own lifetime, that I have just began to see and acknowledge.

When you are really working at something, a goal or towards a dream perhaps, and no one seems to understand how hard and consistently you are truly working for it, or worse, belittle your efforts, it hurts.

“Always aim high, work hard, and care deeply
about what you believe in.
When you stumble, keep faith.
When you’re knocked down, get right back up.
And never listen to anyone who says
you can’t or shouldn’t go on.”
~ Hilary Clinton

When you are tired of trying so hard, and it doesn’t seem like it’s working or you will ever reach that goal and it would just be easier to do what you normally did, before you began to work on this, to stop, to quit.

Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

As you feel the strain of that foundation become boggy under your feet and all the pressure and responsibility you’ve taken on, with little or no support, remember.

“Accept responsibility for your life. Know that it is you who will get you where you want to go, no one else.” ~ Les Brown

Don’t loose your focus. Don’t loose all you have worked for because someone, even someone whose opinion you value greatly, doesn’t see how far you’ve come or how determined you are to keep going, to improve.

“We see what we ASSUME we will see.
If you believe the world is evil, you will see evil.
If you believe the world is good, you will see good.
To change how life looks, change how you see life -
change your expectations of life.”
~ Jonathan Lockwood Huie

Stay the Path. You’ve put your whole self into moving forward, improving, learning… for you, maybe even for them. Don’t give up because they cannot see. Maybe they fear for you, maybe they would shelter you from failing. Either way, the path is still your own.

You chose the path that will improve the whole you, in ways that will effect everything you do. Don’t give up the hope and courage it took, to begin the change.

I can tell you that in time, those who have so little faith will see. Most will. Some will not. That doesn’t mean your dream, your goal, is not a worthy one. This does not mean the regard that they hold for you is not genuine.

All I can say to you, is that anything that feels so right, done with a pure heart and good intentions towards yourself and the world, is worth it. Worth every bit of yourself that you give to it, sacrifice for it.

“If you value integrity, peace, self-growth, and feel like you’re supposed to do something, but you’re not sure what, yet, then you’re in the right place.”
~ Henri Juttila

Don’t give up, ok? Take a deep breath and remember what you are working for or towards. Keep on, keeping on…
