(New) Campfire Chat with Alaska Chick, Wilderness Pack Trip Adventures

OUCH! Welcome back to my fire and holy-cow it is a hot one!  We are chatting tonight about the different Wilderness Pack Trip Adventures we offer here at Pioneer Outfitters in the Wrangell St. Elias National Park.

The fact is that we offer some of the most exclusive and amazing Horseback Adventures in the phenomenally majestic Mountain Wilderness in the world. The only piece missing is YOU!

Let’s chat.

We have other Adventures that we offer too, but I didn’t want to cover all of them in one shot (the video would have been too long!). Some of those are the various Mini-Adventures, the Spiritual Retreats and the lengthier 20 and 30 day Horseback Adventures.

We offer 7 Day and 10 Day Adventures and I can tell you that it is worth ever minute of your slotted vacation time in Alaska to take at least 10 Days to fully immerse yourself into the life and enjoyment of the wild places we will visit. The Horseback Adventures begin May 3rd and run through September 30th each year.

Some of the deciding options available to you to choose from are as follows:

  • The Last Historic Gold Rush
  • Glaciers to hike and explore
  • Spiritual Places
  • High Mountain Lake Fishing
  • Wildlife Photo Safaris
  • Geological Wonders (I even found a meteorite strike once!)

Other advantages to following your dreams of Alaska and planning an Adventure of a lifetime with Pioneer Outfitters are:

  • Logistical support before, during and after your Adventure.
  • Over 90 years of experience ready to help make a dream come true.
  • Information on charter travel to and from Chisana.
  • Your professional licensed Guide.
  • Professional guiding judgment, companionship and dedication.
  • All camping gear and first aid.
  • Our horses provide transportation between Chisana, camps and daily destinations.
  • Home cooked meals served family style while you are  in Chisana.
  • A well stocked camp for your guide to serve as your cook while on your Adventure (no dried backpacker food served here!).

We are certainly looking forward to an amazing year exploring the Wilderness that we live in and hope that you will be with us.

  1. I used to hate the ends of trips like these I was blessed to take while living in Utah at college, durng breaks. I don’t know if I could stand experiencing one again, knowing it would have to end. Instead I’d want to spend one week out of every four on one. Wouldn’t that be the best?! Only in the months where it was possible, of course! Rent me a room there in Chisana for those months and let the games begin! LOL!

My question: got a room for rent?

    • I know, I know!! Sheesh when you wrote about your big trip- gosh! I wanted to go back in time and be THERE! Betsy. For you? I wouldn’t even charge you rent! LOL, umm, you might even find paints and ect. in your cabin! LOL, hint, hint!!
Actually, we have rented cabins before. There is plenty of room, for all kinds of groups, couples, pals, singles and friends.
It is hilarious that you say “Let the games begin!” because so do I as the first plane flies over in the Fall!

  2. Gosh..you’ve got my knees with that “ride itch!” I’m screwed..I want to do them ALL and probably not want to go home..but you already knew that..LOL. Now you’ve got everyone else not going to be able to decide on just one!!!

This was a Fabulous “Chat.” Hearing you describe the Adventures along with the photos, makes it just all the more special!

    That’s hat # ?

    As Always ~*~

    • I can’t even SAY what I am thinking AT you, Ann. Not just one. Although, with this new Adventure I am hashing out, it might be just one for both of us! Are those boys of yours big enough to handle wood and water details in camp? Hmmm….
Oh Lord. I’m all outta hats with this cold! (still -40*F) I’m gonna stick with the warmest hat I have!

      • Oh Lordy..the thoughts running through my brain.

The New Adventure…great idea!..can you pull it off that quick? Had some thoughts after reading the thread..got to go to swimming..I’ll hit you up tomorrow!
Hey..we were -20 this am with NO wind!!! jeez!

  3. These trips sound really awesome, especially while listening to you describing them!
I don’t think that we will be able to go any time soon, but I think I just found the next trip I’m going to take my employees on!

    • I am really happy that you enjoyed that, Chris! It ~ any of them, they are great Adventures. The beauty alone is unmatchable. The incredible…air. I don’t know if I can describe it- I felt the difference the moment I arrived, over 20 years ago. I hope you’ll stay in touch and keep watching!
